Ruby Lin (Chinese: 林心如; Pinyin: Lín Xīnrú; born 27 January 1976 in Taipei, Taiwan) is a Taiwanese TV drama and film actress and singer. Her English name was chosen by herself, after her mother's love of the jewel.[1]
At first, Ruby Lin made her debut by TV commercial in Taiwan. In 1996, After several supporting roles in Taiwanese TV drama, Ruby Lin was one of the lead actresses in the popular television series Princess Returning Pearl and its sequel, Princess Returning Pearl II, which made her a popular not only in Taiwan but across Asia. After getting famous, Ruby also began a singing career.
Throughout her career, Ruby Lin has engaged herself in various roles, such as the sassy JN princess in Duke of Mount Deer 2000, the cruel assassin Cai Yue in Flying Daggers, the gentle natured Man Zhen in Half Life Fate and 40+ years old middle-aged woman in her lastest series Ancestral Temple. After 2006, most of her work primarily focuses on movies.
